The influence of Diamond Head upon Metallica has long been documented. Lars had long been a fan and even travelled to the UK to see Diamond Head and followed them around the country to see several gigs. When Metallica’s tour rolled into Birmingham in November 1992, it was a special occasion for both the bands and the fans that night. All four original members of Diamond Head were reunited and went on stage alongside Metallica.
The eight musicians then played ‘Am I Evil?’ and ‘Helpless’ to an appreciate NEC audience.
The following summer would see the re-vamped 1993 Diamond Head line up opening for Metallica and Megadeth at the Milton Keynes Bowl.
