Diamond Head
Sold out! ladies and gentlemen. Before Dave Mustaine and his new Megadeth hit the stage, it was time for a debut on Danish soil, with Mustaine's very own favourites: Diamond Head. It's the British band with the mighty "Am I Evil", covered by Metallica. Diamond Head started with the intro to that track, but it soon went into "It's Electric". Quite fresh start, and even the reception from the crowd was amazingly warm and enthusiastically loud. It was their first time here, and the band only played second violin to Megadeth. I was a fan, and after Diamond Head's set the musicians had probably earned many more. Only Brian Tatler remains from day one, but its been a long progression. Singer Sean Harris went on to more mellow stuff, and now the singer is the fantastic Nick Tart. What a voice. A little of the former singer and a bit of Paul Rogers [Free/Bad Company]. New tracks like "Give It to Me" and "Mine All Mine" promise great for the future of Diamond Head. Real catchy stuff, well crafted heavy rock on the edge to metal at times, like the monster "Am I Evil". The crowd went nuts and shouted out loud. Amazing response.

Karl Wilcox [drums] and Eddie Moohan [bass] have been around the band for about 10 -15 years now, and the band is now augmented with a new guitar-slinger. Wait for Diamond Head's new album All Will Be Revealed, the self-made/produced tour edition sold at the gig will come out sooner or later. Maybe remixed and on a new label? One of the best supporters ever.

Megadeth
Then it was time for Dave Mustaine and his Megadeth 2005; former King Diamond-guitarist Glen Drover, one time Iced Earth-bassist James MacDonough and Glen´s brother Shawn Drover on the drums. "Blackmail the Universe", "World on Fire" and "Skin O´My Teeth" set the show in motion. Really well played, very well in fact. What a team, and that was a surprise to many, I think; when you think of the folks, Mustaine used to have in the band, and this line-up didn't even play on the record. Glen Drover and Mustaine got to some really deadly solos.

This was a world-class night. Mercilessly executed metal with the angry well known vocals from Dave and no traces from the disease that made him break-up Megadeth. His hand was in shape as was the whole team. My favourite, as always, "Symphony of Destruction" just blew me away. It was totally party time and scream along to this anthem of metal. Then it was medley time with "Peace Sells", "Mechanix" and "Paranoid" [Black Sabbath cover]. I'm not fond of medleys but it worked out well tonight. A great concert; let's say fantastic. Sound, lights, show, atmosphere and even a well deserved dedication to Dimebag [rip] with "System Has Failed" to his honour. The saddest part was that Dave pronounced that it might be a farewell to Megadeth as a band - let's hope not. If it is so, so this was a fantastic farewell show. Thank you.
