Man, it’s such a relief to hear that Diamond Head has never lost their knack for infectious grooves and ridiculously addictive melodies. This is a brand-new album that was sold throughout Europe (on tour with Megadeth). The addition of new singer Nick Tart is not nearly as distressing as the band’s longtime fans might think. While original singer Sean Harris was brilliant, Tart’s style is just as breathy and expressive. In fact, he sounds like a mix of Harris and that other Bad Company singer, Brian Howe. “Give It To Me” and “Alimony” are so hooky and groove-laden, that it’s impossible not to be affected in a most uplifting way. Frankly, as long as Mr. Brian Tatler is on board, there will be riffs of the most unassuming and proud variety. This album is excellent. Get it at www.diamond-head.net. (Dale Lammers)
