Stourbridge rockers Diamond Head brought the latest leg of their 16 month What's In Your Head? Tour to a close where it had started in April 2007 by rocking the the Robin 2 to it's foundations! In front of an enthusiastic crowd, some of whom had travelled from London, Cornwall and the USA, the band took no prisoners as they belted out a pleasing mixture of old favourites mixed in with a good selection from their newer catalogue.

'Wild On The Streets' got the crowd rocking from the off as the band went for the jugular with Brian Tatler inspirational as ever on guitar before launching straight into classic 'The Prince' without so much as a pause for breath. Frenetic stuff indeed with all the band on top form in particular vocalist Nick Tart who had fully recovered from a bout of tonsillitis to finish off the tour in style. Guitarist Abbz and bassist Eddie Moohan were obviously enjoying their own little personal duel to see who could make the other laugh the most as they pounded out the riffs and there was even a hugely enjoyable drum solo from the powerhouse that is Karl Wilcox ( and I hate drum solos!)

The pick of the newer material from their What's In Your Head album was the pounding sexuality of 'Skin on Skin' whilst my own personal favourite from the bands catalogue of classics was the atmospheric 'To The Devil His Due'. It sent a shiver down my spine the first time I heard it back in the mists of time and it still delivers today!
It only seemed like they had been on for 5 minutes when the band launched into the speed metal of their first ever single 'Helpless' and set closer the immortal 'Am I Evil? There was even a mini mosh pit on the go down the front!

But the night was still young as the encores followed with the nostalgic 'Call Me' and the fast and furious 'Play It Loud' - they certainly did! But much to everyones surprise the end of play it loud segued straight into the Peggy Lee (I'm reliably informed!) classic 'You Give Me Fever'. This was a bit of a shock to the system but curiously it worked as the crowd sang along with what little voices they had left before the band finished us off with the b side to their second ever single from 1980, 'Streets of Gold'.

This particular Bilston street was paved with classic Diamonds tonight!
