Diamonds Look Sharp On Stage
Diamond Head are giants of British rock,We are not talking a stick of Blackpool rock here,we are talking the rock of Gibraltar.
Past glories are all very well but at the Rock Cafe 2000 on Saturday November 12,this Stourbridge band proved they still have what it takes.
Yes they came on to classical music,OK it only took the singer two songs to remove his shirt.
The band put their feet on the monitors at the front of the stage and yes, there was a drum solo.
The words spinal and tap may have come to mind but that is fine because that is exactly what we came to see.
More than most types of performance,a rock gig has to be uncompromising in its delivery.
The band has to be good, and know it,to avoid looking like rabbits in the headlights of a steamroller.
Brian Tatler and his gang of new recruits(sic) had the look of men more than happy in their work as they treated the crowd to a mixture of old songs like the legendary Am I Evil? and new songs, including the title track from latest album All Will Be Revealed.
The new material gives fresh momentum to a form of British metal that has been neglected for too long.
Unlike the stylus on a redundant record player, the point of this Diamond Head is sharper than ever.
