Brian on Irish TV

Earlier this year, Brian took part as a judge and mentor in an Irish documentary following a number of bands called 'Scrap Metal: The tour'. Scrap Metal is Ireland's first ever ˜Battle of the Hard Rock Tribute Band Tour. Kicking off on the 16th of May in Dolan's Warehouse, Limerick, The Tour took in venues in Tullamore (17th May, Bridge House) and Mullingar (19th May, The Stables) before the final bands met in Dublin's Button Factory for the last live rock skirmish. After each gig a celebrity guest rock panel and fans decided which bands go through to the next night and, after the final gig, who gets crowned as the Scrap Metal Champions and selected to headline the Glastonbudget festival, the world's premier festival for tribute bands.
The show also features Biff Byford and Brian Robertson.
The 1st episode of the show is scheduled for broadcast on the 26th October, Bank Holiday Monday, at 10.30pm on RTE 2.
There are 4 episodes in total running for 4 weeks. The title of the show has been changed - something we had no choice on - to Scrap Metal: Karl Spain wants to Rock.
The 5 bands in the competition were Metallitia, The Rubber Plants, User Illusion, Ireland Maiden and Thunderstruck. Brian is the main judge in episodes 2 and 3.
